About Overlando Campers

My Georgian experience was made all that much better in the Buhanka which I rented from Overlando. It was a memorable experience, one that my kids and I will not forget. Great country, great scenery and amazing warm people.
On the Road in the Buhanka was epic – very capable off roading 4×4, except the rear doors occasionally flying open – which was funny most of the time.
Highly recommend it, camping spots are easy to find, I look forward to coming back to explore more.

Vehicle (Uaz Buhanka) was prepared fantastically prior to our trip to Vashlovani. Very well fitted out, with a fridge that runs on its own power supply and was on the whole time. Helpful owner, very reasonable and not fussy about vehicle having a few scratches here and there in line with the intended use. Would definitely book again and recommended to anyone considering. Thanks for enabling a great holiday!

Superb experience! Great camper and equipment provided. Super helpful staff, respond immediately to every question while on the journey. We rented the Lada ant it was provided with everything you need. Car in a good condition, no issues, very capable offroad, more than enough space for 2 people. Rooftop tent comfortable and also warm in low temperatures.

We’ve already rented a car with the Overlando company for multiple times and in our opinion it’s the best way to discover Georgia. The value for money is insane. Not only will you get everywhere and sleep in the most beautiful places on top of that well you don’t have to pay for a hotel. The great thing about Georgia is that there are so many public places where you can swim and wash yourself and so many amazing places in nature to stay that this concept works just absolutely perfect here. Next to that there are many hotels that will let you stay in their garden. Absolutely recommend it!!

We had a fantastic 10 days driving around Georgia’s wild scenery. Outside Tbilisi the roads were very quiet and you could stop and sleep almost anywhere. Overlando were always available and quick to sort out any issues.
The van was very comfortable and well equipped. WiFi was included and seemed to work everywhere.

We rented the Lada Niva for 21 days and enjoyed every moment! The car was fully equipped with great camping gear and the tent was popped up (and in) very quickly. The car takes you everywhere! The team of Overlando was really friendly and made renting a car a fun and trustworthy experience (compared to the bad experience I had with bigger companies across the globe). Highly recommend!

We were on the road for 12 days in the Lada Niva and it was an absolute experience! What I particularly liked about Overlando is that they were open from the start and pointed out several times what kind of car this was. The Lada is loud, rickety and offers hardly any comfort, but we fell in love with it straight away and no matter how good or bad the road was, it never let us down. So if you are looking for an adventure, this car is just right for you. If you value comfortable travel, you should choose another option. In general, the service and communication were top-notch and the camping equipment was absolutely sufficient.

Wir waren für 12 Tage mit dem Lada Niva unterwegs und es war ein absolutes Erlebnis! Was mir besonders gut, bei Overlando gefallen hat ist, dass sie von Anfang an mit offenen Karten gespielt haben und mehrfach darauf hinweisen haben, um welche Art von Auto es sich hier handelt. Der Lada, ist laut, klapprig und bietet kaum Komfort, trotzdem haben wir uns direkt in ihn verliebt und egal wie gut oder vor allem schlecht die Straße war, er hat uns nie im Stich gelassen. Wer also auf der Suche nach einem Abenteuer ist, ist mit diesem Auto genau richtig. Wer wert auf komfortables Reisen legt, sollte eine andere Option wählen. Generell war auch der Service und Kommunikation top und die Campingausstattung absolut ausreichend.

We had a beautiful trip with the Toyota Hillux, the car had everything we needed and was in really good condition. The owner, Joris was very helpfull while planning our trip; we always got a quick and elaborate answer to all our questions.
Travelling this way was an amazing experience, the car could go everywhere and with all the supplies on board (stove, gas, shower, water, electricity). We slept in beautiful nature and could go on many adventoures, thanks to the car. Would really advice this way of travelling with Overlando!

Great campers, awesome team! We had a lovely time with our Landrover Defender. The rooftop tent was comfy and spacious (could easily fit three adults or two adults + two kids). The car had an abundance of storage space and came equipped with all the necessary camping equipment. Joris and his team were always available to answer any questions we had. No better way to explore Georgia, definitely recommended!

We have had an unforgettable experience driving around Georgia in the UAZ Buhanka for 3 weeks. Easy to reach some more difficult spots and pleasantly equipped for a god camping experience.
It takes some time to get use to driving the UAZ, I advise to take it easy the first few days to get acquainted and ensure you get familiar with getting all mechanical parts in either 4WD or ow gearing etc. Do not this for the first time once you are on a difficult road 🙂
We also received proper support via Whatsapp/phone when we had a mechanical breakdown and the car had to be repaired. All credits to the team for arranging this over distance.
All in all in a wonderful experience resulting in a few good stories to share back home.

We rented a buhanka campervan from Overlando for 12 days in July 2022. It was an awesome experience. The buhanka is comfortable, very well equipped and fun to drive. Contact with Overlando was smooth and easy. We got very useful advice from the staff in Overlando on what to do and where to go and adjusted the the route along the way according to road conditions. Camping in Georgia was superb, the landscape is very varied, people are so friendly , we have only good things to say. We will definitely be back, exploring new parts of the country and will for sure use Overlando again – we highly recommend!

We rented a Niva this summer. The camping equipment included is everything you might need to stay out of civilization for a few days. The roof tent is easy to handle and super comfortable. The car comes with power steering and air condition. Other than with many rental companies in Georgia, offroading is not contractually excluded. If you plan a trip to the remotest corners of the Caucasus, I would definitely recommend you to go with one of Overlando’s Nivas. For a road trip, the Niva might not be the car to go with… But take him offroad and boy, you will be impressed!

We rented a Lada Niva with roof tent, for 27 days in August 2024. The car is very reliable, but not so comfortable and it does not turn easily. This car is fantastic for the mountains and it goes everywhere. Everywhere…!! The tent is one of the best in the world market, an excellent equipment. The fridge, cooking equipment and wifi are very good. The company is very organized and people are very friendly and knows everything about the cars. Ofcourse we would come again to Overlando!

Rented Niva Lada for a week to travel in Borjomi/Tabatskuri area and to Kakheti. Had an amazing experience. Niva is cool and comes with everything one might need for hicking. Sleeping in a tent that is installed on the roof of the car was an awesome thing and something I had never seen before. Customer service was also great! The staff was very well organized, responsible, and punctual. Overall 10/10!! Highly recommended!

The tour we made with the Lada was the highlight of our trip to Georgia! Everything was fixed very well for a very affordable price – the car was delivered to our hotel, and was picked up again as well. We had a great experience with Overlando: From booking to paying to taking over the car, to driving around with it, to sleeping in the rooftop tent, to giving it back – it all went smooth and met our expectations. The Lada Niva is the perfect vehicle to discover Georgia as a couple. It has 4WD and low gears that can bring you anywhere. We visited Svaneti (from Lentekhi side), the Black Sea, Adjara, and also spent a few days at beautiful Vashlovani National Park. Overlando provided us with all the necessary and useful equipment, which all fitted into the trunk: Gas stove, fridge, water canister (already filled!), kitchen equipment (including spices, oil, vinegar!), camping table and chairs, bedding, etc. etc. Communicating with the Overlando team was easy and swift through WhatsApp.

We rented the Buhanka and Niva. It’s a one of a kind experience to travel through beautiful Georgia by these peculiar vehicles. They will almost take you anywhere. We totally loved it! The vehicles are so well equiped and organised! You have everything needed right at hand. Next time we’ll go for the luxury variant and rent the Hilux 😃

Overlando provides probably the best way to explore the beautifully diverse landscape of Georgia. We rented the UAZ Buhanka for 17 days and did not regret it at any point of our journey. Even though the roads in Georgia and Armenia are not up to German standards, the Buhanka is the perfect car to deal with it and climb even the tallest mountains on the bumpiest roads.
The camping equipment contains everything you need and overall, a lot of thought and labour has been put into the interior accessories (dimmable LEDs!).
Joris answered every question we had during our trip immediately and the overall service provided by the Overlando Team is just excellent.

I’m used to overlanding and adventure trips and Overlando provide with everything I was hopping for. The Buhanka is maybe not the best car in the world but it’s a great load of fun to drive and it will take you where you want. I really enjoyed it a lot! The work that Overlando did with the car is very fresh and functional. The Buhanka was my home for 22 days and every time I needed it, Overlando did not hesitate in giving the extra mile. They are young, efficient, and very much service oriented. I would definitely recommend Overlando and not hesitate to book again with them if I would plan another trip in this part of the world.

We hebben 3 weken rondgereden in de Toyota Hilux met ons gezin (2 volwassen en 3 kinderen). We hebben enorm genoten. Juist de afwisseling tussen wild kamperen, campings en hotel/guesthouse beviel ons goed. De wagen is snel om te bouwen voor de nacht en bevat alles wat je nodig hebt. Ook de vele off road wegen waren goed te berijden. complimenten voor de verhuurder die ook de aut kwam brengen en ophalen op hotel adres. TOP! Zeker aan te raden.

Driving with the Lada Niva through Georgia was an unforgettable experience. The owner Joris was super helpful and gave us a great introduction for the car and many helpful tips for the trip. Best thing about the Lada is that I can go nearly everywhere, so you can find super nice and remote camping spots. We were happy that the car had AC and the rooftent mattress was comfortable enough to spend two weeks in the car. Only thing we missed was a coolbox. We’ll definitely go again!

We rented the lada niva and we absolutely loved it. We had no experience with wild camping or driving off road but the well equiped car and Overlando’s support made it really easy. It is a great way to explore Georgia. Highly recommended!

We hadden bij Overlando een Lada Niva en een Buhanka (beide met daktent) gehuurd voor onze kinderen om een weekje met ons mee te rijden off road door Georgië. Dat is ons uitstekend bevallen. Snelle en accurate communicatie, auto’s prima uitgerust (vooral de Mifi was fijn) en probleemloos Abano pas en andere spannende pistes mee gereden, prettige uitleg/instructie bij aankomst, dito retour/inname. We rented a Lada Niva and a Buhanka (both with roof tent) from Overlando for our children to drive with us for a week off-road through Georgia. We really liked that. Fast and accurate communication, cars well equipped (especially the Mifi was nice) and drove Abano pass and other exciting slopes without any problems, pleasant explanation/instruction on arrival, ditto return/collection. We traveled with the Lada Niva for 2 weeks and tried to explore every aspect of Georgia, with succes. If I have one recommendation for Overlando, it would be to expand their number of rental cars. Because I will tell all my friends, colleagues, family… about them and they will come to Georgia after looking at the pictures. The communication was great, the Lada Niva was better equiped than expected and it found a little space in our hearts. We made it really difficult for us to look for an even nicer holiday next year.

Our family with 2 kids (aged 7 and 10) rented an UAZ with rooftop tent for 2 weeks this summer. We had a truly amazing experience! The car was well-equipped with proper high quality camping gear, the UAZ was technically in good condition and the team at Overlando was super friendly, helpful and efficient in their communication. We felt safe camping in Georgia, the local people are friendly and always helpful. As as soon as you are used to driving this kind of car, the driving on Georgian roads is comfortable. We hebben 10 dagen de UAZ gehuurd en hebben een onvergetelijke reis gemaakt. Het contact met Overlando was erg prettig. Tijdens onze reis konden we altijd een berichtje sturen als we vragen hadden. Zou het zeker aanraden om hier de auto te huren!

Overlando is echt een ontzettende aanarader. Het contact verliep erg prettig. Van te voren hadden we goed mail contact en konden we alle vragen m.b.t. mogelijke routes, maar ook m.b.t. huidige Covid-regels. In Georgië konden we via Whatsapp altijd vragen stellen die snel werden beantwoord.

Het is gaaf om in de UAZ rond te trekken. De wagen is van alle gemakken voorzien. Vooral de koelkast is een fijne bijkomstigheid, want na een dag hard rijden is er niks lekkerder dan een koud wijntje of biertje.

It had been my dream to travel to Armenia and Georgia for a long time. So I read a lot of travel blogs to prepare for the trip 🔎. In fact, I read everywhere that it could be difficult to travel by public transport, because there is not that much tourism yet. So after some research I found @overlandocampers ☺️.
I booked a Buhanka Campervan 😍 and rented it to travel from Armenia 🇦🇲 to Georgia 🇬🇪 throughout the mountains, waterfalls, beaches and cities.

The van was extremely different to our cars back home in Germany. The manual transmission and the heavy steering were exciting. It felt like being in a big truck 😅. But I quickly got used to driving around. We drove through snow, sand, mud and the badest roads I’ve ever seen – but we made it, even if we didn’t always believe in it 😂.

The Campervan was also very well equipped – full kitchen kit and gas burners, large water jug (which we filled at the many natural springs along the roads), and most importantly a fridge for all those excellent wines and food 😜. The only downside was having to wait until we found a campsite every day to open a bottle 😉😄.

10 out of 10 would recommend for anyone looking to explore Armenia and Georgia with this van 😁. It was one of the greatest adventures I have ever experienced and I’m so incredibly grateful that I was able to experience this together with @beatedosch ❤️

We had a fantastic trip using Overlando’s lada Niva in Vashlovani NP.
The car was very efficient on every paths, and surprisingly comfy. It comes with all the needed camping gear.
The rooftop tent was easy to set up and really water resistant despite the storm we have experienced.
All in all we can only be positive with this rental company. The owners are very professional and extremely friendly.
We miss already this car and can’t wait to book it again.

Had a great holiday with a perfectly equipped Lada Niva with rooftop tent that gives you all the freedom you like to have in Georgia, 5 stars are definitely not enough, big thank you to Joris and his team:-)

My husband and I rented Overlando’s UAZ Buhanka in May 2022 for a week to visit the western and north-western part of Georgia. We drove from Kutaisi to Mestia, then back down to Bakuriani, while stopping by natural sulphur pools, the world-famous Martvili canyon and Prometheus cave, and beautiful overnight camping spots.

We absolutely enjoyed our drive/stay in the UAZ. Overlando has designed the UAZ keeping user experience first – we were so pleased by how the “furniture” could be moved and folded to suit our needs. The bed linen given along with the van were also so comfortable and helped keep the heat at bay. Even the kitchenette was well thought out, and adequately stocked with travel utensils and cutlery. We frequently stopped on our route to make ourselves a cup of tea.

Although we couldn’t use the tent much as it frequently rained, it was a simple mechanism and we were surprised by the amount of space inside the tent.

The Overlando helpline is also always available to sort out any issues during the journey and they also provide 5 GB of WIFI included with the vehicle, with more data available to purchase if needed.

Overall, it was an excellent experience with Overlando, and we hope to go back to explore more parts of Georgia, with our UAZ home.

We rented the Lada Niva with roof tent for 2 weeks. In retrospect, I can’t imagine a better way to explore the country.

The very well maintained Lada took us reliably everywhere, was easy to drive and really grew on us during the 2 weeks. The roof tent was amazingly spacious, easy to handle and a super sleeping accommodation even in wind and rain. And for even more comfort, there are even camping chairs, a small table and a kitchen box. There is thought of everything, even oil, pepper, salt, soap and garbage bags are included. In the glove box there is a small handbook with the most important information and also the hotline we have been able to reach immediately in case of questions. Also in advance, the communication by e-mail was easy, fast and uncomplicated.

Thank you Overlando for this great package and an unforgettable time in Georgia. I can highly recommend it to anyone who wants to travel to Georgia and we will definitely come back soon to discover more of the country.

We (2 adults/2 teenagers) rented a Toyota Hilux in August 22 and ha a great time travelling in Georgia – an amazing experience! The car was in a very good condition and perfectly equipped. The rental process with Overlando was very professional – nothing to improve 🙂 We will certainly come back!

Simply: the single best way to visit Georgia is with Overlando. You can visit everything, sleep everywhere from a meadow outside a city till a rocky riverside and feel the country as much as possible. The car is equiped with everything you need and the people of Overlando are really nice.

We rented a Buhanka van for ten days for a roadtrip around Georgia. The van took a day to get used to, as the design of the car itself is rather rudimentary and you have to expect a few querks… BUT, once we got a hang of it we really had fun driving through all kinds of mountain passes, offroad tracks, cow pastures and lonely meadows! It took us anywhere we wanted to go! The interior has everything you might need for your holiday in the nature and the companies customer service was really great! No question left unanswered. Would highly recommend, we already think about coming back to explore Armenia aswell

We had an amazing experience with the Hilux sleeping 4 people. The owner gave us valuable advice on where to go according to our timeframe and preferences, ensuring offroad fun and a great experience. The car itself was very well equipped and everything was of high quality. The offriad capabilities were impressing and the rides were super fun. Flexible pick up and return made it super relaxed, as well as the easy communication with the owner.

Awesome Buhanka Campervan rental in Georgia! We rented for 2 1/2 weeks and traveled throughout the mountains of Georgia, from Svaneti to Tusheti and many places in between. The van was extremely reliable, and it had excellent 4 wheel drive – a necessity for several of the places we visited. The only time we had to turn back was when our path was blocked by 1.5 meters of snow! The Campervans was also very well equipped – full kitchen kit and gas burners, large water jug (which we filled at the many natural springs along the roads of Georgia),and most importantly a fridge for all those excellent Georgian wines. The only downside was having to wait until we found a campsite every day to open a bottle! Joris and his team were also excellent – answering our questions both before and during our trip. 10 out of 10 would recommend for anyone looking to explore Georgia.

together with my wife and 2 friends of mine, we rented 2 Buchanka at October 2021. I want to give a short feedback regarding our experience: First of all, we enjoyed our trip to Georgia with the Buchanka very much. Although Buchanka is not a common vehicle, that´s what we wanted to get to know. As Automotive engineers I think we were able to handle it! To provide Internet-Connectivity as standard equipment simplified travelling a lot – and it worked pretty well. I want to give just one proposal: Due to the fact, that 2nd fuel-tank should (could) not be used and dirt roads without fuel stations come upon many times, it would be calming to know a jerrycan inside the Buchanka (5 – 10 liters would be ok). Especially in Kaukasus, there is no buffer for unexpected situations (diversion, …). It was a great trip!

What can I say what hasn’t already been said? We had an amazing trip with our Kia Bongo, everything was perfect. The campers are very well-equipped, and you can tell there was a lot of thought process involved to ensure that you have everything you could wish for in a camping holiday. There were a few issues prior to our trip (not Overlando’s fault) but they were quick to find solutions. The whole experience was amazing, and they were there for us throughout the whole duration. Collection in Tblisi was uncomplicated, as was the return in Kutaissi. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. I can highly recommend Overlando, and we are hoping to visit Georgia and Armenia in the future and are planning to use them again. I have friends who want to visit Georgia, and I have recommended Overlando to them. I do recommend to book well in advance as their Campers are booked out very fast, due to the fact that they are so reliable.

We had an amazing experience driving around Georgia with the Lada Niva! Powerful small car that had everything we needed, even a charger, music box and wifi box. We experienced the wonderful nature by getting to remote areas but also the friendliness of Georgians as we impressed them with our Lada Niva!
Very easy handling of the paper work and great communication and support through WhatsApp.

Wir hatten eine rundum perfekte Erfahrung mit Overlando. Der Lada Niva war wirklich Top ausgestatted und hat uns keine großen Probleme gemacht. Das Dachzelt und der Rest der Campingausstattung waren außerdem wirklich Super. Der rund um die Uhr Service per Whatsapp und das Wlan im Auto sind außerdem wirklich cool! Ich kann es nur empfehlen.

We had a completely perfect experience with Overlando. The Lada Niva was really well equipped and didn’t cause us any major problems. The roof tent and the rest of the camping equipment were also really great. The 24/7 service via Whatsapp and the WiFi in the car are also really cool! I can only recommend it.

We traveled through Georgia for four weeks with the Lada Niva. A fantastic experience, partly due to the special support of Overlando. When an accident (no fault of our own) interrupted our trip, Overlando even bought a new Lada Niva so we could continue our adventure. What a car! We take even the roughest off road passages effortlessly. The Lada is very ingenious and fully equipped, up to and including WiFi and music box (we have never used the latter, it is the silence of wild camping that is the great charm for us). The sophisticated and complete kitchen equipment does not even lack oil and vinegar :-). Because we first traveled through Georgia by public transport for six weeks, we can compare the two modes of travel well. The big advantage of the Lada Niva is that you are very flexible. You can indeed go where you want. And the roof tent is a wonderful place to sleep, which is ready to dive in within two minutes.

De meerwaarde van Overlando We trokken vier weken met de Lada Niva door Georgië. Een fantastische ervaring, mede door de bijzondere ondersteuning van Overlando. Toen we door een ongeluk (buiten onze schuld) onze reis moesten onderbreken, schafte Overlando zelfs een nieuwe Lada Niva aan, zodat wij ons avontuur konden voortzetten. Wat een auto! Zelfs de ruigste off road passages nemen we moeiteloos. De Lada is bijzonder vernuftig en compleet uitgerust, tot en met wifi en muziekbox (die laatste hebben we nooit gebruikt, juist de stilte van het wildkamperen is voor ons de grote charme). In de uitgekiende en complete keukenuitrusting ontbreken zelfs olie en azijn niet :-). Omdat we eerst zes weken met het openbaar vervoer door Georgië trokken, kunnen we de twee manieren van reizen goed vergelijken. Het grote voordeel van de Lada Niva is dat je heel flexibel bent. Je kunt inderdaad gaan en staan waar je wilt. En de daktent is dan een heerlijke slaapplaats, die binnen twee minuten klaar is om erin te duiken.

We hired a rooftent at Overlando to place on top of the 4x4WD car we rented elsewhere. Great service and clear communication. The tent was in perfect shape and really easy to set up and use. When their minivans are rented out (as is our case), a perfect alternative would be to rent a rooftent and the camping gear at Overlando, to place on top of a car rented elsewhere (discuss this with them to make sure it fits:)). I strongly recommend this company.

We had the honour of driving one of the Lada Niva’s of Overlando for 10 days back in August. Driving around Georgia in the Lada was really fun and easy! With the travel tips of the Overlando crew we saw some amazing places and really enjoyed sleeping in the rooftop tent. Definetely a great experience!

If you’re looking for an experience of a lifetime exploring the beauty of Georgia in a 4×4 – look no further. We went with a UAZ Buhanka, and boy was it an experience – the charm of an Sovjet union technology vehicle, combined with a high attention and vision from Overlando, turning it into a proper campervan, with a fridge, a cooker, coking utensils, a comfortable bed, and more than enough storage space. Highly recommended, when we return to Georgia, we will def. rent an Overlando vehicle again. Thank you Joris and team.

If all car rental companies were as good as Overlando, life would be a bliss 😅. These guys run a tight ship, we had an amazing time. The car comes with all the camping accessories you need, from wine bottle opener to italian coffee maker. . We highly recommend the Lada Niva.

We have been travelling from Tblisi to the impressive Kaukasus mountains. Our camper drove us everywhere without any trouble. And some of the roads are off-off roads!
The Buhanka was cosy and has everything you need. It was a great adventure and a nice way to explore Georgia.
The staff from Overlando were very helpfull before and during the trip.

We have enjoyed 2 trips in an Overlando Buhanka. It is the best way to see some of the off-the-beaten track parts of Georgia. And these are some of the best places to visit. Overlando are efficient, friendly and informative. The campers are great vehicles, well provisioned and well maintained. I could not rate them more highly.

We really enjoyed our 2 weeks holiday in Georgia with the uaz buhanka camper. With the uaz we were able to reach all places we wanted and service from the team was good!

We rented a 4×4 Lada Niva with Overlando. The rooftop tent was perfect for exploring Georgia’s mountains. The car is compact but agile enough for the roads we faced. The car came extremely well equiped with table, chairs, stove, cutlery, plates, glasses and even a coffee mokka. The guys at Overlando were very attentive and quickly answered all our questions about the car and roads in Georgia. We totally recommend this service and for sure we will take it again next time we’re back in Georgia.

We ranted a Uaz Buhanka for 10 days. The van has a fascinating rough and wild look, but is equipped for every need if you have to stay for some days in some remote locations of Georgia. The roof tent allowed us to sleep comfortably (we were 3 adults). Georgia is a beautiful country and Georgian people are really friendly and hospitable.
Overlando’s team has proved itself very efficient and ready to respond to every question or need we had. Their advices were very helpful and perfect.

Hi! We had such a great experience renting a Lada Niva from Overlando. Joris was very helpful and kind and the pick up and drop off of the car felt very trust based. Really appreciated it. It made our pick up easy and fast and the drop off very convenient for us.

The car is equipped with everything you could possibly need – reading material (LonelyPlanet + a book written by Georgians about Georgia), and the classic gear; a stove, table and chairs etc. + coffee and spices (which is a small – but lovely gesture).

The tent is easy to rise, the bed is very comfortable and the view changes from day to day. We really got a taste for off road driving and loved being able to set camp wherever we wanted and being close to the wind, weather and the call of hyenas.
