Georgia’s Main Ski Resorts
Georgia boasts several top-tier ski resorts, each offering unique experiences for beginners and seasoned skiers alike.
- Gudauri (🏔️ 1.993m – 3.276m, 🏂 35km): Renowned for its stunning views and vast ski terrains, Gudauri is a favorite for free-riders. It’s located just a two-hour drive from Tbilisi, making it an accessible destination for a quick getaway as well as a extended winter-stay.
- Bakuriani (🏔️ 1.641m – 2.702 m, 🏂 29km): Perfect for families and beginners, Bakuriani offers gentle slopes and a cozy village atmosphere. It’s situated about three hours from Tbilisi, accessible from Borjomi.
- Mestia – Hatsvali & Tetnuldi (🏔️ 1.868m – 3.160m, 🏂 20km): For those seeking a more off-the-beaten-path experience, Mestia in the Svaneti region is your go-to destination. It’s a bit farther, requiring about an eight-hour drive from Tbilisi, or if you’re flying into Kutaisi, it’s about 5 hour drive away. But the journey is part of the adventure!
- Goderdzi (🏔️1.724m – 2.366m 🏂 7,2km): Located in the Adjara region, on the Goderdzi Pass, this is one of the newest ski resorts in Georgia. The resort is distinguished by the impressive nature, fresh air, spectacular landscapes. Best reached from the Batumi side.
Reaching these destinations can be challenging due to the sometimes extreme weather circumstances. We have equipped some of our popular vehicles specifically to tackle these obstacles, and get you there safe and comfortable.
Winter Snow Pack
We understand the challenges of winter travel. That’s why our Snow Pack, free of charge, includes:
- 4×4 with low gear: our vehicles are real 4x4s and offer much more traction and control on slippery surfaces, low gears help you to get even more power to drive on steep sections
- Ski Carriers: easily transport your ski and snowboarding gear. Carry up to 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards on the roof / truck bed of the car.
- Snow Chains: essential in Georgia during winter, these are included for your safety on icy and snowy roads.
- Tyres: our vehicles have All-Terrain tyres with M+S/Snowflake mark
Starting December 2023, winter tyres and snow chains became mandatory in Georgia on certain road sections, assigned by the government. The fine for not carrying snow chains is 100GEL.
